Explore Ethiopia through our tailor-made circuits, designed by Anna and her team from Addis Ababa. Each itinerary is crafted to reveal the richness of the country: the rock-hewn churches of Lalibela, the high plateaus of the Simien populated by geladas, the volcanic depression of the Danakil, and the peoples of the Omo Valley. Whether you travel with family, as a couple, or with friends, our circuits adapt to your pace and preferences, from a 12-day discovery circuit exploring the historic North to an expansive three-week journey combining North, South, and Danakil. You travel with peace of mind with a local English-speaking agency, by your side from your first inquiry through your return.
Choose your trip in Ethiopia
How to choose your trip to Ethiopia?
Ethiopia cannot be explored quickly. Distances, altitudes and the diversity of regions require adjusting the duration based on your priorities. A stay of 13 to 17 days allows you to cover the historic North, Bahir Dar, Gondar, Simien and Lalibela, at a comfortable pace with two or three domestic flights. To combine the North with the Omo Valley, the Danakil or Harar, plan for 18 days or more. Our team adjusts the itineraries based on your physical fitness and interests, whether trekking, anthropology, birdwatching or photography.
Different types of trips
Our itineraries vary according to your preferences. Cultural trips focus on Orthodox Christian heritage sites, religious festivals like Timkat and markets in the South. Adventure trips include Simien trekking, Danakil expeditions with active volcanoes and crossing the Balé. Family packages are designed with shorter stages, child-friendly accommodations and engaging activities: gelada observation, Ethiopian cooking classes, visits to coffee cooperatives in Sidamo.
What is the best season?
The dry season from October to March remains the peak period for most trips. The highlands then enjoy sunny days between 20 and 25°C, with cool to cold nights at altitude, sometimes near zero in Simien. The Danakil is accessible from November to February, when temperatures drop below 40°C. The Omo Valley can be visited year-round, with peak interest in August-September during Hamer ceremonies. Rains from June to September green the landscapes but complicate the tracks.
